The American soldier was often either a young, patriotic voulenteer, or an older draftee. They came from all over, from cornfields of Iowa to assembly lines in Detroit. They sweat through eight crammed weeks of training, then set off to fight off the Axis in Europe and Japan.

Life was rough as an American GI, with the poor conditions and rations. However, they braved through it, with weapon and steel helmet; they aimed for victory.
